About Us

Salsa at the Gardens is a non-profit Salsa group that serves the community.  Our goal is to provide dancing opportunities to the community at no cost, allowing people to enhance their quality of life, improve their health, develop their dancing skills, socialize, and create unforgettable memories.

SATG (Salsa at the Gardens) was founded in 2020 in Fort Worth by Michael Chin, a dancer from the Dallas area. The first few meetups took place at Sundance Square before the event was relocated to the Fort Worth Water Gardens. Starting with only 12 members, our community has now grown to over 2,800 members and growing at a fast pace. Michael had to relocate in early 2021, and the Morales family, consisting of Margaret and Sal, took over running the group. Later Kennya Sanchez joined and in 2022 Rosie Flores joined the core group followed by Angelica Ramirez-Govea in late 2023.  The Salsa Squad now consist of Sal, Margaret, Rosie and Angelica.   We also have a dedicated group of volunteers who contribute their time, money, and dancing expertise to help in our weekly Salsa Sundays and monthly dance social events.

Every Sunday since 2020 SATG has hosted Salsa Sundays at either the Fort Worth Water Gardens or at local restaurants with the exception of covid months.  By being at the FW Water Gardens this attracts many visitors from all over.  The group encourages and welcomes visitor and members to come and participate, learn to dance with us on the beautiful grounds of the Gardens.

In mid 2022 monthly dance socials have taken place every first Friday of each month
